Vision

Effective use of Solar energy for Daylighting applications to reduce the carbon footprint of Buildings.

Problem

daylight, there is a widespread reliance on artificial electrical lighting during daytime hours. This unnecessary consumption of electricity results in significant energy waste and inflation of utility costs, while simultaneously causing adverse physiological and psychological health effects on individuals subjected to prolonged artificial illumination.

Solution

Harvesting full-spectrum sunlight , transporting to building interiors, and illuminating buildings for 8-11 hours a day.

Potential

• In India, nearly 306000 GWh is used for electric lighting. • Daylighting with smart lighting controls can target 1% of this consumption for saving translating to 3060 GWH . • Average energy saving potential of skylight/ daylighting system is 1500 kwhs per year. • This means 2,04,000 daylighting systems potentially can be installed. • Currently Skyshade is doing 4000 per annum. So, there is a huge gap in potential for daylighting systems and for market potential opportunity for Skyshade

Target Beneficiaries

All built environment viz. residential, commercial, office complexes, public buildings, factories & warehouses.

Current Users

Factories, airports, railway buildings, residential, commercial buildings, public buildings etc.
