Bharat Innovates 2026 is an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, with strategic guidance from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA). It is designed to represent India’s R&D-backed technology innovation prowess — nurtured at Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) — on the global stage.
The programme identifies, mentors, and supports approximately 100 promising and path-breaking technology innovations at various stages of development (TRL 3–9), and presents them to a global audience comprising industry personnel, investors, policymakers, potential collaborators, and technology partners.

Bharat Innovates Deep Tech Pre Summit is the pivotal domestic milestone of the Bharat Innovates programme. It is a two-day national-level event where shortlisted deep-tech startups from across India showcase cutting-edge innovations to industry leaders, academia, incubators, and curated investors — making it one of the largest deep-tech showcases in the country.
The programme includes an inaugural session followed by startup exhibitions through live stalls. Industry leaders, academia, incubators, and curated investors are invited to engage directly with the Top 100 cohort.
This event serves as the final domestic preparation stage before the selected teams represent India at the International Innovation Showcase in Nice, France (14–16 June 2026).

To be shortlisted and join the Top 100, applicants undergo a competitive multi-stage evaluation process. Only the sharpest, most market-ready ventures make the final cut.
