The National Basecamp of Bharat Innovates 2026 brings together the nation’s leading deep-tech innovators, strategic technology stakeholders, domain experts, and business leaders. Shortlisted startups and innovators will present their breakthrough technologies and compete for the opportunity to represent India on the international stage. The Basecamp, is being organised jointly by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar.

It is part of the Bharat Innovates 2026 programme organised by the Ministry of Education and the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA), with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay serving as the coordinating institute. The event is designed to elevate national deep-tech talent and will be held in two phases at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN). The first phase of the Basecamp will be held from December 18 to 20, 2025 and the second in January 2026.
400+ startups and innovators selected from India’s Higher Education Institutions and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes, such as IITs, NITs, IISERs, etc, are exhibiting and pitching at the National Basecamp.
The event begins on December 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM with the Inaugural Ceremony. The schedule for the event is to be announced shortly.
Beyond presenting their innovations to a distinguished jury in closed-door pitching sessions, participants will engage in interactive consultations with mentors, technical guidance sessions, and networking with ecosystem stakeholders.
Innovation stakeholders, including investors, venture capitalists, incubation networks, accelerators, technology partners, and industry leaders, are encouraged to attend the National Basecamp.

By Air: The nearest airport is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD) in Ahmedabad. It is approximately 20-30 minutes (26 km) away by car. Prepaid taxis and ride-sharing apps (Uber/Ola) are readily available at the airport.
By Train: A taxi is the most convenient option from The Ahmedabad Junction (Kalupur) or the Sabarmati Junction.
